I graduated from Texas State University, in San Marcos, Texas.
I attend Texas Music Educators Associations conferences most years, and have attended the Kodály Training Program for consecutive years in order to receive my Kodály certification. Kodály is one of many approaches to teaching music. Although not necessary to teach music, Kodály is an additional certification that music educators may receive to further their education or refresh their methods.
I teach general music (K-5th), choir, music club/ UIL Music Memory, and occasionally teach dance.
I have studied piano and music since the age of 6, and come from a family of several generations of music educators and educators in general. Before college, I was a member of the Galveston Ballet company. Today, I still take dance classes which is a fun way to experience music through another medium. Dancing also gives me a fresh perspective on music.
