About Me

Educational History:

I graduated from the University of Houston with a BBA. My major was in marketing and I worked in various marketing positions for 16 years.  After many years of thinking about going back to school to become a teacher, my husband encouraged me to get my teaching certification.  I went back to school and earned my certification to teach Early Childhood – 6th Grade (EC-6) from Region 4.  This was the best decsion I have ever made!  I love teaching kids and I feel blessed to have found my home here at Southside Elementary. This will be my 7th year in education.

I have lived in Houston for the past 30 years and I love it down here!  Before that, I lived in East Texas but. I was born in California and was raised there until I was 10 years old. I believe I can call myself a “Texan” by now!

Personal Information:

My favorite hobby is to travel. When I travel I like to hike, scuba dive/snorkel, ride horses, visit historal sites and go whitewater river rafting.  Some of my favorite vacation spots are the Colorado moutains or Hawaii.  I had the opportunity to vacation in Greece last year.  I hope to get a chance to go overseas again someday. I also love to bike ride and work out when I can find the time. I always enjoy a good book to read!
